Welcome to the Black Belt Invitational
Welcome to the Black Belt Invitational, an exclusive program designed to bring together a select group of martial artists who share a commitment to growth, respect, and the true spirit of karate.
This program is not open to the general public. It is for:
- Active Grading Panel Members who play a vital role in shaping and evaluating the next generation of Black Belts.
- Black Belt Students who are committed to ongoing development and mastery of their craft.
- Teachers, Friends, and Special Guests of Sensei Vic who share our values and vision for martial arts.
At Vic Granic’s Super Kick Karate, we believe in the traditional values of martial arts, where the relationship between teacher and student is built on mutual respect and shared purpose. This program is about more than just training—it’s about creating a balanced and meaningful connection between Sensei and student, where both contribute to the growth of the dojo and each other.

What is the Black Belt Invitational?
The Black Belt Invitational is a unique opportunity to:
- Foster a Balanced Teacher-Student Relationship: In the traditional martial arts way, a Sensei would accept students not just based on their ability to pay a fee, but on their behavior, values, and what they brought to the dojo.
- Continue Leadership Training: Help guide and mentor the next generation of Black Belts while sharpening your own leadership skills.
- Refine the Black Belt Curriculum: Train all components of the curriculum, ensuring growth at every level.
- Focus on Personal Development: Deepen your understanding of martial arts and train at the level you can and want.

Why the Black Belt Invitational?
In the past, a Sensei would carefully choose their students based on their character, values, and willingness to contribute to the dojo. It wasn’t just about paying a fee; it was about creating a balanced relationship where both teacher and student grew together.
At Super Kick Karate, we honor this tradition. While students today pay a fee, it’s not the only thing expected. Behavior, respect, and a shared commitment to the values of martial arts are just as important.
This is why I don’t run an open-to-the-public adult program. Instead, I focus on families and individuals who are on the same page as me—those who value the balance of the teacher-student relationship and are committed to creating a positive, respectful, and growth-oriented environment.
